The History of Mossel Bay Depicted
|The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex in Mossel Bay is one of the few Cultural and Historical Museum attractions exhibiting at the INDABA Tourism show in Durban.
INDABA is the South African Tourism Market where all major players in the tourism industry get together annually to meet potential clients and other products.
The Tourism potential - especially historical tourism - of Mossel Bay, is great and has to be fully developed for the benefit of the entire community. The diverse cultures and magnificence of the local community are wonderfully depicted here and it is truly a 'place where Cultures meet!' as our slogan indicates."
The Museum Complex has been uniquely represented at INDABA for a number of years and is a popular stop off point for incoming Tour Operators.
The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex consists of four buildings, which includes 7 National Monuments!
The Bartolomeu Dias Museums boasts with more than 250 000 visitors to the Museums and attractions making up the Complex (of which the Old Post Office Tree, which is over 500 years old and the Caravel - a life-size replica of Dias' ship which sailed from Portugal - are the most popular).
Mossel Bay is uniquely situated between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and is ideally situated to serve as a base for visiting nearby towns such as Oudtshoorn's Crocodile Farms, Ostrich Farms, Cheetah-land and the magnificent Cango Caves.
