Mrs June Wright, a member of The Great Lakes Historical Society has compiled the book "The History of Forster" including some history of the areas south of Forster, including Tiona, Pacific Palms, Smiths Lake, Coomba and Bungwahl (situated on Myal Lakes). Forster sits on the southern side of the ocean entrance to Wallis Lake (new South Wales' largest coastal lake) about 300 kilometres (3 and 1/2 hours dirve) north of Sydney (between Newcastle and Port Macquarie). It is linked to its twin town of Tuncurry by a bridge across the lake. The full print edition of the book is available at the Great Lakes Museum, Capel Street, Tuncurry, New South Wales, Australia.
