|It will provide insight into the multifaceted world of Chinese lacquer handcrafting from the period of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) through to the 18th century. The exhibit items, most of them carved and with mother-of-pearl inlays, convey specifically Chinese impressions with their rich language of symbols and deep significance, much of it drawing on literary tradition.
