CAREW MANOR AND DOVECOTE

Tours at 2pm and 3.30pm take in the Grade I listed Great Hall of Carew Manor with its magnificent late medieval hammer-beam roof, the Manor's cellars, and the 18th century brick dovecote built for Nicholas Carew, first Baronet, around 1717.

Learn the story of the Carew family, from royal courtiers to frenzied gamblers, and stand below the same roof as English monarchs like Queen Elizabeth I, who was so fond of visiting Sir Francis Carew here, an area became known as Queen Elizabeth's Walk

LAST OPEN DAY OF 2000 - SUNDAY 23 JULY
