DUNASKIN OPEN AIR MUSEUM

Dunaskin Open Air Museum tells the story of the industrial revolution through ironworking, brick making and mining. Set in 110 acres the museum occupies the site of the former Dalmellington Ironworks which operated from 1848 until 1921. Classed as a Scheduled Ancient Monument the museum has historic buildings, audio-visual programmes, audio tours of the site, a 1914 iron workers cottage, simulated coal mine tours, shop and restaurant.
