A museum primarily dedicated to the finds of the renowned site of Jebel Barkal (main periods represented: New Kingdom, Napatan, Meroitic). Also houses some of the possessions of the Old Merowe Museum which was abandonned due to flooding in 1976, as well as finds from the recent archaeological work at the 4th Cataract of the Nile due to the construction of a dam that has started flooding the region since 2008. With a hall for temporary exhibitions (see events).
