FRANK SLIDE CENTRE, LEITCH COLLIERIES PROVINCIAL HISTORIC SITE, AND TURNER VALLEY GAS PLANT HISTORIC SITE

Frank Slide Interpretive Centre: An award-winning audio-visual show, interpretive and education programs, special events, displays, walking paths, gift shop, picnic area - tells the story of triumph and tragedy in the Crowsnest Pass including the 1903 rockslide from Turtle Mountain. Spectacular Rocky Mountain backdrop. Open May 15 to September 14 from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. and from September 15 to May 14 from 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m..

Leitch Collieries Provincial Historic Site: The surface ruins of a sophisticated early mining company including the mine manager's residence, powerhouse, tipple, washery and coke ovens. Interpretive signs, walking paths and picnic area. Guides on site from May 15 to Labour Day in September 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..


Turner Valley Gas Plant Historic Site: Tours of a historic gas plant, and displays, audio visual presentations and tourist information available at the Town Office in Turner Valley. Open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. May 15 to Labour Day. Features the oil and gas history of one of Canada's most productive oil fields.
