MOTHERWELL HERITAGE CENTRE
Motherwell Heritage Centre tells the story of the development of Motherwell and the surrounding area, from Roman times to the present day, through a series of galleries and multi-media displays. The award-winning 'Technopolis' exhibit allows visitors to travel through time, interacting with various historical characters via touch-screen computers, audio-visual displays, film and artefacts. A Local History library contains documents and records for anyone wishing to find out more about the history of the area and is an invaluable source for those tracing family history. The temporary exhibition gallery allows the centre to offer a changing range of exhibitions, either in-house curated exhibits, touring displays or work done by local community groups (see News section for current exhibition). The 80 foot high viewing tower offers commanding views over the Clyde Valley and beyond.
