MUSEO NACIONAL DE LA ACUARELA

Located in the beautiful, traditional district of Coyoacán, in Mexico City, the Museum has a collection that spans prehispanic codices, painted on deer skin with natural pigments dissolved at water, to XIX century paintings: such as miniature watercolor portraits on ivory; as well as paintings of great Mexican artists such as Saturnino Herrán, Felix Parra and Leandro Izaguirre, to contemporary painting of artists like Edgardo Coghlan, Alfredo Guati Rojo, and the extraordinary painter from Oaxaca Erasto Leon Zurita. Additionally, the permanent collection includes an important selection of international watercolorists.
First in the world dedicated to this branch of the art.
