LOS ALTOS HISTORY MUSEUM

At the Museum you can explore the rich history of people and how the use of the land over time has transformed the apricot orchards of the Valley of Heart?s Delight into the high tech hub of today?s Silicon Valley.

Experience the sights and sounds of history through an interpretive permanent exhibit ?Crown of the Peninsula? featuring a 1932 animated miniature train display; an interactive, hands-on family tree; and a gallery of maps, models and artifacts from the time of the Ohlone Indians to the present. Permanent Exhibit Gallery, Upper Level.

On the Main Level you can enjoy changing collections and traveling exhibits from the Smithsonian and other museums as well as lectures and educational programs bring history alive. Don't miss the Museum Store for books, gifts and commemorative items.

Other activities include two antique shows yearly, educational programs and facility rental for special events. You can research local history in the collection and archives available by appointment.

Museum Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 12 Noon - 4 P.M. Admission is free.
