BUCHMUSEUM DER SÄCHSISCHEN LANDESBIBLIOTHEK - STAATS- UND UNIVERSITÄTSBIBLIOTHEK DRESDEN

The permanent exhibition shows manuscripts, early prints and autographs, among them the Dresden Maya manuscript, a sketchbook of Albrecht Dürer and the "New Book of Flowers" by Maria Sybilla Merian.
Note manuscripts of Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Wagner and Antonio Vivaldi are exhibited as well as the "Mainzer Psalter" (1457) from the workshop of Johann Gutenberg and the renaissance bindings of the famous Dresden royal bookbinder Jakob Krause.

The SLUB Dresden has moved into a new library building during summer and autumn 2002. The Buchmuseum reopened in January 2003.
