International ICLA Conference - Workshop Host

The International Comparitive Literature Association (ICLA) conference will be taking place in South Africa during August 2000. The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex will host one of the pre-conference workshops on Travel Writings. International delegates will arrive from across the globe to participate in this conference, and at the same time, will have the opportunity of visiting this well-known Museum Complex which will act as host for the proceedings. A day outing to the Cape Point Nature Reserve at Cape Town is also being planned. But, why wait for a Conference to attend lovely Mossel Bay?! The Museum Complex is open 363 days a year and welcomes ANYONE to take a look at the early Maritime History of South Africa, Fauna and Flora of the Garden Route and Indian Ocean region AND the rich local history of this quaint seaside town. Explore endless horizons...

Feedback: October 2000

The workshop of the ICLA Congress was a great success and the international delegates who attended were extremely impressed with the town of Mossel Bay and what it has to offer. The Cultural Gala-Evening which was held inside the Maritime Museum in the public amphitheatre, was most probably the most memorable event.
The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex made many new friends and looks forward to welcoming them back to our shores in the very near future!
