Creston Museum hosts Old-Fashioned Tea
The tables are being covered with delicately embroidered tablecloths and set with fine china tea cups. Flowers are gathered for centrepieces, and the ladies are making cucumber sandwiches. This can only mean one thing: the Creston & District Museum is preparing to invite you to step back in time for an afternoon.
The Museum’s fourth annual Old-Fashioned Tea will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2002, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Tea and lemonade, dainty sandwiches, and sweets will be served on the Museum’s patio. Your hosts and hostesses will be Museum staff and volunteers in turn-of-the (last) century costume.
“The Tea has grown rapidly over the past few years to become one of our most popular events,” says Tammy Hardwick, manager of the Devon Street Museum. “It’s a chance to forget about the hectic pace of modern-day life.”
