Morgan Log House Will Undergo Moisture Abatement Project
The Welsh Valley Preservation Society has been awarded a Keystone Preservation Grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to implement a Moisture Abatement Project at the Morgan Log House.
Working with a historical architect and conservation specialists, the Welsh Valley Preservation Society will repair sill logs and other deteriorated architectural elements of the Morgan Log House that have been damaged by moisture, then implement measures to prevent additional moisture penetration of the building. Construction is scheduled to begin the middle of June, 2006 and conclude by mid August, 2006.
Additional contributions are being sought from the public to help pay for this project.
