“Ten Years of Title-Holder Portraits: A Retrospective by Ray Castro” opened at the Leather Archives Museum on Saturday, May 27, 2006. The show, which will run for approximately one month, features all the preliminary drawings for the portraits done by Mr. Castro in his first ten years as official portrait artist for International Master and slave, Leather Sir and boy, International Ms. Leather, and Ms. World Leather. After the show’s run, the twenty-nine drawings will be donated to the Leather Archives. The gala opening also featured additional pieces brought in by the artist to celebrate the occasion. “I am honored,” said Mr. Castro, “to have my work included in the Leather Archives. I have tried to make these works representative of the individuals who, in themselves, are Leather history in the making. My contribution is Leather history in the painting.”
