Aloe are rosette-formed leaf-succulents of the "Old World", especially Africa. There is a huge variety from small to large rosettes, single to multi-headed and dwarf to tall. All in common is the bell-shaped single flower which may occur in huge clusters. Flower colors vary from yellow, orange to deep red, often with greenish flowertips. The fruit is a three-locular capsule, which is typical for many members of the lilly-relation, it is e.g also found in Agave or Yucca of the "New World". Aloe vera and some others have medical value and may help to cure wounds more efficiently.
