In the grounds of the Great Lakes Historical Museum there are several historic buildings. There is the original Tuncurry School building which was built in 1886. There is the National Bank building which was originally situated at Forster. There is the original Tuncurry single-cell police lock-up which was built in 1949. There is a 1940s pioneer cottage which has been refurbished to display artefacts from the Federation era.
