ALL VALLEY SCHOOLS
This memo is to update or inform you of the educational prospect available at Fleischer Museum. The Art Education Program at Fleischer Museum is a benefit to the Phoenix community school system and is available to all valley schools. The museum underwrites the costs of school bus service to transport the children and all art supplies related to the visit.
The Art Education Program is comprised of a tour of Fleischer Museum's current exhibition, followed by a drawing and pastel class. The best projects will be chosen for a student exhibition to be displayed in the museum's Sculpture Court at the end of the school year. The awarded students will be invited back at the end of summer, along with their families, teachers and school principals to be honored at a reception. The tours start at 10:00 a.m. lasting approximately one and a half hours. Tours consist of 60 students, with one adult chaperone per ten children required. Tours take place Tuesdays through Fridays, throughout the school year. Tour availability is on a first come, first serve basis so it is imperative that dates are scheduled in advance. To schedule tours, please contact Karen Turek, Art Education Coordinator at (480) 563-6341.
After scheduling tour dates, teachers must contact their own school bus service to reserve transportation for that date. The bus invoice should be mailed to Ms. Turek's attention at Fleischer Museum for prompt payment. This project serves schools and children from the Greater Phoenix area.
