Real translucent Apache Tears (merikanite obsidian nodules) only come from Superior, Arizona. The "tears" come embedded in perlite from the Apache Tear Mine in Superior. The mine is now owned by the Harborlite Corporation and is operated as a perlite mine. Perlite is used in insulation and other industrial products.
