|From Conflict to Resolution to Harmony|
|Shredder of Mean Words|
On the second floor, visitors to the National Liberty Museum tour the wing, "From Conflict to Resolution to Harmony." Beginning with the shocking facts of violence in today's America, the gallery then offers peaceful alternatives. One of the first steps in conflict resolution is the ability to see past differences. Visitors -- children and adults alike -- are invited to write a mean word on a piece of paper and shred it in the shredder. "Shred it and forget it."
The gallery also praises real-life young heroes who stood up against injustice and promoted peaceful conflict resolution. At the end of the gallery, visitors are asked to cross The Bridge of Forgiveness, which is an important step towards resolving differences.
