Television after World War Two

At the end of World War Two television production resumed in the United States and in England. The first sets were made in small quantities in 1946. By 1953, 26 million homes (50% of the population) had television. Though growth was slower in England, television was in most homes by the end of the 50s. In this room we display American, British, French and Dutch sets made between 1946 and 1951.
