Derwent Valley Textile Mills
Four research papers

The importance of Belper North Mill is that it shows William Strutt’s great technological innovation of “Fire-proof” cotton mills (1804). Our new publication Derwent Valley Textile Mills reproduces four important research papers from Industrial Archaeological Review XVI which describe and discuss fireproof mills (Keith Falconer), cotton mills of the Derbyshire Derwent (Adam Menuge) and Lombe’s great silk mill at Derby (Anthony Calladine). This well illustrated 68 page A4 book is available from our visitor shop at GBP6.00 plus GBP2.00 post and packing.
