Just adjacent to the mill are the historic Belper River Gardens (see Map). Given by George Herbert Strutt in 1905, the osier bed has been transformed by skill and care over the years into gardens which have received international acclaim. Come and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity. Rowing boats are available for hire from the promenade. Open daily and it is free.
