Entomological collection
Papilio ulysses from New Guinea

The entomological collection of the museum is quite famous, including one of the greatest collections of bugs, founded by Dr. Karl Singer (1860-1959). Various collectors contributed to the collection of beatles and butterflies during the 19th and early 20th century. Today it not only covers the local entymological fauna but also includes exotic butterflies of great beauty, like the Papilio ulysses from New Guinea above, and beatles of most impressive size and shape.
