Hard by the mill (see Map) is the early factory community of house built by the Strutts in the 18th century for their worker. The picture shows ‘Long Row’ built to a very high standard, and still much sought after today, for ‘workers’. ‘The Clusters (a four house block),nearby, were for ‘managers’. A short walk will include all the housing and the Strutt built unique Unitarian Chapel.
