E.L. Kirchner - Schimmeldressurakt, 1909

The collections of the Kirchner Museum Davos includes more than 1400 works by the expressionist artist: paintings, drawings, woodcuts, lithographs, etchings, sculptures, textiles and photographs. A well known treasure are the 160 sketchbooks with more than 9000 drawings, dated between 1904 and 1938. From special interest are the letters written by Kirchner and the documents to his life and work. Beside Kirchner the museum can show more than 50 works by Fritz Winter and 40 works by Christian Anton Laely, both pupils of the artist. And the museum preserves the complete graphic work of Albert Mueller, memeber of the swiss artist group "Rot-Blau". Since 2000 the museum also owns the estate of Baumgart-Moeller, including paintings, prints and drawings by artists liek Erich Heckel, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Otto Mueller, Alexej Jawlensky, Wassily Kandinsky and Wilhelm Lehmbruck.
