Roman treasure hoard from Stockstadt

The 1315 silver and 6 gold coins placed in a ceramic jug were found during building activities in the area of a paper factory at Stockstadt at 1962. The factory was erected in the place of the former castrum and roman village of Stockstadt. The coins date from Nero (54 AD) to Marc Aurel (168 AD)and probably were hidden because of Alamannic raids during the reign of Marc Aurel.
