Tannenbaum Historic Park preserves a remnant of the 150-acre farmstead of Joseph Hoskins. Hoskins served the 18th-century Guilford County community as a constable, tax collector and as sheriff. During the Battle on March 15,1781, Hoskins' farmstead served as a staging area for British troops under General Charles Cornwallis, who described the area as "a considerable plantation."
