The Wibaux Museum is located in the little village of Wibaux, Montana USA (formerly Mingusville). Wibaux, Montana is located on the banks of Beaver Creek in the heart of the Badlands, 10 miles from the Montana - North Dakota border. We are situated 1/2 way between Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Makoshika State Park, Glendive, Montana; 1/2 way between Billings, Montana and Bismarck, North Dakota for airline connections; and, just a few hours from the Black Hills and the old west town of Deadwood, South Dakota. Just a bit further is Mount Rushmore National Memorial. North of Wibaux you will find Fort Peck and Lake Sakakawea reservoirs on the Missouri River, offering exceptional recreational opportunity. Either are a nominal and scenic drive from Wibaux. 30 miles east runs the Little Missouri River at Medora, North Dakota. 30 miles west finds you at the Yellowstone River at Glendive, Montana. Heading south to the splendid country around Baker and Ekalaka, Montana you'll find Medicine Rocks State Park and the beautiful Custer National Forest. And, of course, the great little city of Joe, Montana. (formerly known as Ismay) Wibaux sets about 1/2 way between Minneapolis and Yellowstone National Park - an oasis to the weary traveler.
