Crucifixion Window of the Mortuary in the Cathedral of Eichstaett
The Freiburg glass-painter Fritz Geiges restored the original windows which had been created by the late-gothic painter Hans Holbein the elder around 1505 from 1889 to 1892. Following the style of paintings from that period Geiges used coloured glass of intensive luminous power. Lead glazing, mouth-blown antique glass, tracing paint, silver stain.
Gift from the estate of Fritz Geiges to the
German Stained Glass Museum Linnich.
