Digital ecosystems should enlarge the market niche of SMEs in Europe promoting local development. The main idea is to transpose concepts of natural ecosystems in a business environment. The project is co-ordinated by IBM. My role in the project was to draw up a report for a comparative socio-economical study on potential DBE effects in the above mentioned regions. Project’s title is VISIONS (Virtual Information System & Intelligent Ontological Network for Spatial development perspective). Project still under evaluation of the EC. The project was evaluated as very good, but dismissed because financial weakness of several partners.
