"Klosterarbeit" filigree devotional picture

The filigree devotional picture is a typical example of these pieces of 18th century religious folk art produced in nunneries. Most of the "Klosterarbeiten" in the museum originate from the nunnery of Schmerlenbach. The production of these pictures was counted as an act of devotion and meditation, but they also were a source of income for the nuns.
