School Workshops and Loans Boxes

Motherwell Heritage Centre offers a range of workshops for schools. Themes include the Romans, Victorians, the Home Front, Local History Detective and Granny's Groceries. Sessions involve artefact handling, map reading, researching, dressing up and a variety of worksheets. School visits usually last between 1 and a half and 2 hours. The museum also has a range of 'Discovery Boxes' which can be loaned out to schools and other community organisations. These have a range of artefacts and documents and are useful for education or reminiscence. The topics covered include coal mining, bringing up baby, health and wellbeing, the home front and children of WWII. Please contact the heritage centre for more details.
