Log Cabin Village Collections
19th Century Artifacts
The Museum's collections include the 19th century log home and furnishings, textiles, tools and equipment, photographs and documents, and personal objects that relate to everyday pioneer life and work in Texas including kitchenware, spinning wheels, etc. Among the most popular objects in the collection are the chair reputed to have been Sam Houston's favorite, the Foster piano, and the 1870s milling equipment. A changing exhibit in the Foster Visitor's Center highlights different aspects and artifacts of Texas 19th century life.
