Nativity figures

Anton Gentil was keen on Nativity figurenesses. The two figures above, henchmen of the three holy kings, belong to great figureness created at the famous workshop of the Probst family in Lienz, Tyrol, about 1850. Hundreds of figures helped to illustrate not only the Christmas scene, but events during the whole Christian year, like Jesus in the templum, the merriage at Kanaan, Christ triumphantly entering Jerusalem and so on.
