Accessible transport: Jubilee Line at Waterloo and Southwark, main line stations Waterloo and Elephant and Castle.
Special parking arrangements: The Museum has some limited parking close to level access points for disabled visitors. Please telephone 020 7416 5262 to book a space.
Access to the Building: Main entrance 50m from the road on a tarmac path through the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park. + 9 +1 +3 steps leading to the ground floor. From the front of the building, alternative level access via a tarmac path to the right and down the side of the building, 50m, which allows lift/ramp access to all areas of the building via the lower ground floor.
Wheelchair Access to the galleries: Flat, ramped or lift access is provided to virtually all exhibits, including (with assistance) the 'Blitz' and 'Trench' Experiences. The gallery staff will be pleased to assist you. All areas of the museum are accessible to wheelchairs, except the upstairs of the 1940s House exhibition. Lifts are available at the back of the museum and go to all floors. A lift is also available in the Holocaust Exhibition. Wheelchair access into and out of the building is via the West Entrance, situated on the lower ground floor past the 1940s House exhibition.
Wheelchairs are available on loan.
Seating: Permanent seating is available throughout the museum.
Temporary Seating: Lightweight stools can be borrowed from Reception and Enquiries. Please note, a small refundable deposit will be requested.
Disabled toilets: are available on all floors except 3 and 4. Please check your floor plan for exact locations. Please note, there are no toilets in the Holocaust Exhibition.
Study Area: An accessible study area is available as part of the reference library facilities. Facilities include an accessible work area and equipment suitable for use by those with visual impairment. To book an appointment please telephone 020 7416 5342 (Dept.
