St. Elisabeth
Loan of the hospital foundation Aschaffenburg

The sculpture of St. Elisabeth with bread and wine jug dates from about 1510 - 1520. The sculpture was probably intended for the high altar of the chapel of St. Elisabeth hospital. The hospital later was removed from the far side of the river Main into the city and renamed St. Catherines hospital. The figure was transferred to the new chapel and removed to the museum after World War II.
