CLAREMONT MUSEUM

Claremont Museum is housed on the site of the oldest building in Claremont, originally Freshwater Bay School. The schoolhouse was built in 1862 by convicts for the Pensioner Guard community and now holds permanent displays about local history and a changing exhibits area. Educational programs are offered throughout the year for school groups, offering hands-on experiences. Exhibitions include colonial history, domestic technology and changing displays on various topics.
