Ernst Willers
Italian landscapes

From 1835 to 1863 the Oldenburg court painter Ernst Willers lived in Rome where he created numerous landscapes of the Latium region. Willers is a talented unconventional landscape painter of the late Romanticism, but he can be discovered also as a gifted artist of beautiful and unusually large-size drawings from nature. With this exhbition in the Casa di Goethe, Ernst Willers is presented for the first time in Italy. This happily coincides with the 200th anniversary of his birthday.
