LOPODUNUM was the most significant Roman metropolis in the estuary area of the Rhine and Neckar. The Lobdengau Museum in the Bishop´s Court of Ladenburg showcases a variety of finds, some of which are spectacular. This impressive castle, once the residence of the Bishops of Worms, presents archaeological discoveries from all prehistoric and early historical epochs of the city´s area. The museum´s four levels also offer insights into the turbulent history of the medieval and modern central locality. Numerous exhibits bring Ladenburg´s public life and everyday culture back to life.
