The future needs a past – visitors to the Mercedes-Benz Museum experience this fascinating interplay between innovation and history every day. Here, directly opposite the brand´s main factory in Untertürkheim, fascinating insights into a culture of innovation that has been alive for more than 130 years are revealed. More than ten million people have already been inspired by this during visits to the exhibition and events ranging from concerts to cinema screenings.
Curtains up for the automobile invented by Carl Benz in 1886: the museum brings its history and stories to life, exploring the connection between technology and everyday life, contemporary history and popular culture. More than 160 vehicles of all kinds are the main attractions. They range from some of the oldest automobiles in history to legendary racing cars and research vehicles. Together with other exhibits, they form the heart of the permanent exhibition in twelve rooms covering a total area of 16,500 square meters. This unique world can be discovered on two tours that follow the narrative threads of “Myth” and “Collection.”
The automotive, cultural, and culinary program of the Mercedes-Benz Museum is as diverse as the history of the automobile itself. In addition, there are special exhibitions and presentations on various topics.
