The private "MMKM Museum of Modern Art Mülheim" in the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr (3 Ruhrstraße) was founded as part of the Cultural Capital RUHR.2010 and began in the historic VILLA-ARTIS at the inner-city park "Ruhranlage", with ongoing development efforts.
At the same time, the fee-free active Mülheim Art Association and Art Promotion Association Rhine-Ruhr - abbreviated as KKRR - was founded, with the goal of further developing a vibrant art scene with artists and art enthusiasts of all ages and professions in the Ruhr valley city of Mülheim.
