The Dresden Municipal Gallery is located just a few metres from the Dresden Frauenkirche in the Landhaus.
The permanent exhibition of the municipal art museum shows a journey through Dresden art of the 20th and 21st centuries, including works by Otto Mueller, Otto Dix, Willy Wolff and Hermann Glöckner. Selected individual items are presented in an adjoining project room. In addition, three themed special exhibitions focussing on art in Dresden await your visit each year. The municipal art collection comprises around 1,900 paintings, 800 sculptures and 20,000 works on paper. The earliest works date back to the 16th century, but the focus is on 19th and 20th century and contemporary art.
