Description [EN]
In the former manor house of the von Brabeck family, the Letmathe e.V. heritage association showcases its collection on the rural culture of the region, as well as the craft and industrial history of Letmathe. The permanent exhibition can be visited as a tour on the upper floor of Haus Letmathe. In the gallery, there are changing special exhibitions on the history of Letmathe or by local artists. The municipal museums regularly offer public tours of the exhibition. The farm Letmathe is documented as early as the 11th century at the site of the current building. In 1473, Haus Letmathe was built as a fortification with a moat. Today, in addition to the local history museum, it houses a branch of the city library, as well as a cultural space for lectures and small arts in the vaulted cellar.
In the municipal museum Haus Letmathe, the local heritage association Heimatverein Letmathe e.V. voluntarily ensures regular opening times and organizes local history special exhibitions as well as a lecture series in the vaulted cellar.
