This unique site offers a truly special way to experience and understand Bauhaus history. Here, in 1920, the only workshop outside Weimar from the early days of the art school was established, along with its only pottery studio.
Thanks to continued use and minimal alterations, it is now the last Bauhaus workshop preserved in its original location.
The continuous use as a pottery studio during economically challenging times and under GDR conditions has resulted in the preservation of elements from the various periods of use – a place of great authenticity, a place with exceptional experiential potential.

Stadtrundgang Dornburg [EN]
The twin town of Dornburg-Camburg lies in the central Saale valley, not far from the university city of Jena. Dornburg-Camburg has a lot to offer: three palaces, two museums, a spectacular iron bridge, castles, ruins and a two-metre reflecting telescope. Famous visitors include the medieval Holy Roman Emperor Otto I, the poet Goethe and the philosopher Nietzsche. The town is also known as the home of some of the best of German ceramic art.
