Description [EN]

The German Diary Archive(DTA), founded in 1998, is located in the old town hall of Emmendingen. DTA collects and preserves unpublished diaries, memoirs and letters from people of all backgrounds, making the personal records accessible to researchers and the public. Since 2014, the museum within the archive has provided a glimpse into its vast collection. The current exhibition "Lebenslust – Lebenslast –  Lebenskunst | Tagebücher erzählen", shares stories of life´s joys, challenges and art of living.

In March 2019, DTA was added to the Baden-Württemberg Register of Monuments as a “cultural monument of particular importance”.
