Description [EN]
In Frankfurt am Main, the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt (FFF) has played a significant role in the presentation and reflection of photographic practice since 1984. The institution promotes the medium through exhibitions, workshops, symposia and lectures, and regards photography as a universal visual mode of expression.
The Forum is operated by the Förderkreis Fotografie Forum Frankfurt e. V. Since 2014 the Forum has been located in Braubachstraße; in its early years it was housed in the Leinwandhaus, before the Caricatura Museum für komische Kunst moved in there.
Between 1984 and 2024 the Forum has presented more than 290 exhibitions. The first presentation was also the first retrospective, featuring photographs by the Frankfurt photographer Babara Klemm. Since 1992 the institution has been institutionally managed.
In addition to the exhibitions, the programme includes the FFF-Akademie, which offers information and continuing education opportunities by and with practitioners of photography. In the series "Photography Players. International specialists featuring upcoming talents" young, promising photographers and photographic artists are introduced. FFF Junior is an educational outreach programme offering formats ranging from free school tours and day workshops to multi-day holiday courses.
