Description [EN]
The Hörde Local History Museum in the annex of Hörde Castle displays exhibits in its rooms from the history of the former town of Hörde and the present-day district of the city of Dortmund.
Our rooms are arranged thematically. One room shows the origins of the town of Hörde from 1340 and the Clarissan convent with excavation finds. The next room deals with the 160-year history of steel from the Hermannshütte to the dismantling of the steelworks in 2000. One room is dedicated to Hörde's mining history. Brewing in Hörde and the history of medicine are also on display in another section. Finally, visitors can view a traditional parlor with old kitchen utensils and a doll's house.
