In the town park of Klein-Karben, the Sculpture Park in Karben has played a visible role in the public realm since 2001, connecting art with green space.
The park is situated along Bahnhofstraße in the Karbener Stadtpark, between the indoor leisure pool, the town hall and Robert-Bosch-Straße. The site is located in Klein-Karben in the Wetteraukreis in Hessen.
The transformation of the site stems from an initiative that formed after an Open International Sculptors' Workshop held as part of the Wetterauer Kulturtage in 1998. The aim was to establish a previously agricultural area permanently as a place for sculptural work.
The Sculpture Park was officially opened in the summer of 2001; with the presentation of the first work titled "Solidarité" the gradual addition of further sculptures began. Today the site comprises several sculptural works that are integrated into the park landscape and artistically enrich the public realm.
