Description [EN]

The property is named after the last family to own it. It is a very well-preserved, unusually large rural farmstead from the second half of the 18th century, situated in the heart of Teningen.

The residential house (1781) with its associated farm buildings is surrounded by a large open area including a farmyard and orchard, a bakehouse (1695), a hemp-retting area (1790), and the village stream as the property boundary.

The permanent exhibition focuses on the local social and economic history. It also documents the traditional village crafts.

The support association ANWESEN MENTON e.V. has made the preservation and care of the historic farmstead and the development of the local history museum at Anwesen Menton its mission. In addition, the association’s work includes planning and organizing events and exhibitions at Anwesen Menton to promote a sense of local heritage and to support education and upbringing.
